About Us

Seacross Ranch is home to Montana’s healthiest and happiest red angus cows. We breed and sell calves and heifers, and our cattle spend their days grazing on native grasses under bright blue skies. The ranch covers 6,500 acres of both deeded and leased land within the Crow Reservation and rests in the upper valley of Lodge Grass Creek, flanked by the Big Horn Mountains. But it’s not just the cows who thrive here, the entire ecosystem benefits from our sustainable and regenerative ranching practices. Certified as a conservation ranch by Montana Audubon, Seacross Ranch beef is raised and finished solely on grass and is 100% hormone, antibiotic, and cruelty-free. We also adhere to a detailed habitat management plan that has led to an increase in bird and plant diversity as well as protection of critical wildlife habitat.

Owners Mickey Steward and Randall Shinn have operated sustainable ranches for over 35 years, making them industry leaders in humane land and livestock management. They value end-to-end production, from nurturing calves to humane harvesting, including processing and customer delivery. Year-round grazing methods of varying intensities improve nutrient cycling in the soil, groundwater recharge, plant and species diversity, and weed and pest control. At Seacross, we know that healthy ecosystems raise healthier cows, leading to an undeniable quality and flavor of beef. Order your favorite cut today and taste the difference for yourself!
